Kearny Biomedical Science and Technology (BST) is one of the four small schools on the Kearny High Educational Complex in San Diego Unified School District. BST offers a unique, hands-on learning experience for students interested in health, medicine, and scientific research. Students can explore the Biomedical Sciences CTE pathway, which includes lab-based courses in biology, anatomy, and medical interventions, preparing them for college and careers in the health sciences. The school emphasizes project-based learning, collaboration, and real-world applications, helping students build strong academic and technical skills. Outside the classroom, students can join a variety of clubs, participate in CIF sports, and take part in internships and community partnerships that support their career goals. With a tight-knit, supportive school culture, BST empowers students to think critically, work collaboratively, and make a positive impact on their community
The Biotechnology pathway is perfect for students who enjoy science, lab work, and discovering how things work at the cellular level. Students learn about DNA, genetics, medical research, and how science is used to develop new medicines, vaccines, and technologies. This pathway is a great fit for future lab technicians, researchers, or anyone interested in medical science and innovation.
