CTE Internship Guidelines for Students and Families
San Diego Unified offers Career Technical Education (CTE) internship opportunities that allow high school students to apply their classroom learning in real-world work environments. These internships, offered through the Community Classroom (CC) and Cooperative Vocational Education (CVE) programs, are designed to help students gain valuable job skills, build professional habits, and explore career interests.
The CTE Internship Guidelines outline everything students and families need to know about participation requirements, safety, supervision, eligibility, and expectations for both unpaid and paid internships. Whether students are preparing for their first internship or continuing in a work-based learning program, this document provides a clear overview of how these experiences are structured and supported by our schools and industry partners.
