The San Diego Unified College, Career, and Technical Education (CCTE) website was created to support students, parents, educators, and community partners in navigating the wide range of career pathway opportunities offered across our schools. This platform is part of a larger effort to promote access, equity, and postsecondary readiness for all students. The development of this site directly supports the district’s strategic initiatives under the Golden State Pathways Program (GSPP), as well as priorities outlined in the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and the San Diego Unified Board of Education goals. These shared efforts aim to increase academic achievement, close opportunity gaps, and expand access to college and career opportunities.
The Golden State Pathways Program is a new statewide initiative that helps high school students connect what they learn in the classroom to real careers and college opportunities. Golden State Pathways is about giving students a head start on their future. The program supports courses and hands-on learning in high-demand fields like health care, education, technology, engineering, and climate-related industries—all careers that are growing and offer strong wages. We believe that every student deserves access to real-world learning that opens doors to college, career, and lifelong success. This site was built with that belief at its core.
Through Golden State Pathways, students can:
Explore career interests in classes that connect to real-world jobs
Earn free college credit while still in high school
Get work-based learning experiences, like internships or industry projects
Graduate with skills and credentials that help them move confidently into college, training programs, or the workforce
This program is part of a statewide effort to make sure every student has access to the resources, opportunities, and support they need to succeed—no matter their background or neighborhood. At San Diego Unified, this initiative aims to expand access to high-priority pathways, increase dual enrollment, strengthen integrated academic and technical instruction, and offer robust work-based learning experiences across all high school campuses.
This website brings together resources to help students and families explore CTE programs across our schools. Here, you can:
Learn about each CTE pathway offered at San Diego Unified high schools
Explore pathway charts aligned with postsecondary degrees and local job opportunities
Access information on earning early college credit through articulation and CCAP agreements
Find connections to work-based learning, industry certifications and student supports
