Concurrent Enrollment gives San Diego Unified high school students the opportunity to take college courses outside of their regular school day. These classes are usually offered in the evenings, on weekends, or during summer through the San Diego Community College District (SDCCD), either in person or online.
Students can earn real college credit that appears on a community college transcript. In some cases, these courses may also count toward high school graduation, depending on the subject and the student’s academic plan.
Concurrent Enrollment is a great choice for students who want to explore new subjects, challenge themselves, or get a head start on their college journey while still in high school.
To get started, students need to complete a college application, talk to their school counselor for approval, and enroll through SDCCD. Courses are taught by college professors and follow the same expectations as regular college classes.
