SAM4 setup tool

The next step of SAM4's installation is to use the SAM4 setup tool to verify if the NOVAQ has been installed correctly and if it can connect to the Samotics cloud. The SAM4 setup tool is meant for installation optimization, configuration, and troubleshooting. Moreover, it can be used to set up Ethernet connection configuration.

The setup tool is only accessible through a direct, local connection via a laptop.

Accessing the SAM4 setup tool

In order to access the SAM4 setup tool, take the following steps:

1. Setup your laptop to airplane mode

• Click on the Wi-Fi on the bottom right of your screen

• Click on "Airplane mode"

• Make sure no other ethernet cables are connected to the laptop.

2. Connect a laptop to the LAN port of the last NOVAQ in the chain.

3. On your laptop, open a web browser and navigate to http://sam4.local 

4. From this page you can choose which NOVAQ you want to log into. 

Notice  If you cannot connect to sam4.local, access the individual device by navigating to its serial number and adding ".local" - e.g. TNGATE1234567.local.

5. On a first login to each NOVAQ a password will be set up for this device.

Notice Please make sure you store your passwords in a place where you can access it easily!

6. After inputting your password and repeating it press “Set Password”.

7. Input the password again to log in.

Note In case you forget your password, please contact your Samotics contact person or reach out to WhatsApp Chat Support to ask for a password reset token. You can set up a new password using the token.
