NOVAQ devices can be linked using Ethernet cables, allowing both power and network connection to pass through each device using PoE, in a setup known as a Daisy chain.
The first NOVAQ in the Daisy chain is connected directly to the Power Supply Unit, of which the process is described in Install power supply.
Notice One 60W Power Supply Unit (PSU) can power:
up to 4 NOVAQ units with up to 20m distance between each device,
up to 3 NOVAQ units with up to 50m distance between each device.
1. To connect multiple NOVAQ units, use the Ethernet cable provided in the Sensor Kit. Plug it into the LAN port of the first NOVAQ, then connect the other end to the WAN port of the next device.
Multiple NOVAQ connected to each other
Notice The maximum distance between two NOVAQ units connected via Ethernet is 75 meters.
Notice If NOVAQ units are distributed across multiple cabinets or spaced farther apart, the number of units powered by a single PSU may be reduced.
2. If your setup requires an additional Power Supply Unit (PSU), it will be provided along with instructions on which NOVAQ unit it should be connected to.
Connecting the additional PSU follows the same steps as connecting the first one.
