11th and 12th grade students from Tallinna Saksa Gümnaasium participated from 17 to 20. October 2023 in Erasmus+ group mobility in Paris
The focus of the Erasmus+ mobility to Paris was environmental issues and sustainability. The program started at the Paul Valery partner school in Paris, where the students got to know each other, discussed the agenda of the joint project and started with a visit to the construction site of the partner school which was under reconstruction. In the construction of the partner school, new construction methods are used, the purpose of which is the recycling of materials and the application of bio-construction technologies.
Later, they visited together the Académie du Climat (Climate Academy), where they focused on the topic of energy use and participated in the workshop "Become an e-expert", where they had to impersonate a journalist and an expert focusing on climate change and the future. The students filmed their discussion and edited the filmed videos. In the afternoon, they visited the Rodin Museum to get acquainted with historical sculptures.
In the following days, the theme was art, culture and history. The Louvre Museum, with its excellent art collection, was the inspiration for the independent task of creating a presentation for each other. In the afternoon, a very exciting virtual visit of Notre Dame Cathedral took place using 3D glasses, where information was obtained about the construction and reconstruction of medieval buildings. In addition to the aforementioned places, the cultural highlights were of course the Eiffel Tower, the Orsay Museum, the Invalides, Montmartre, Père Lachaise cemetery, etc.
The conclusion of the project took place at the Paul Valery partner school, where presentations and the joint completion of the project took place. Our group was very satisfied with the whole organization and the hospitality of the Paul Velry school family.
We hope that the students of Paul Velry School will also come to visit our school next academic year.
