Personal Portfolio
Kimberly Medsker-Mehalic
We are inspired by the places we go. Where we live. The people we love. While my job is focused on inspiring students to create, I was trained to be an artist and I spend a large part of my free time creating art. I have two young boys who are quite demanding with their artistic requests from their "momma." I collaborate with them a lot. When I'm not drawing dinosaurs, building fairy houses, or painting frogs, I'm creating my own art that reflects my two geographic loves: mountains and oceans. My work has evolved to be more graphic in nature. Meaning, large with bold colors and not a lot of rendering or shading. I gravitate towards more gestural work, however, I also love details in fine lines. Most recently, I've been doing a lot of "painting" with masking tape and spray paint. I've also been refinishing/revamping furniture. While I sell my teaching materials at: TeachersPayTeachers, most of my artwork hangs in the houses of those I love.
Recently, I started an ETSY business, Mehalic's Mountain Made where I sell some of my art. Feel free to check it out and/or follow the business Instagram, Facebook, or ETSY to see what I'm making outside of the classroom.
