My last picture is the blank space of leaves. First we collected leaves and put them on a piece of paper and made the leaves touch at least three sides of paper. and to create blank space. Than we got a bigger sheet of paper and started drawing the negative space of the leaves. I tried using oil pastels for the first time in my life and i will admit, they're slightly difficult to use and you have to have a lot of patience. i used brown red and yellow. Brown closest to the leaf and faded into red, than yellow.
I used color, texture and pattern. I used color by using oil pastels and blending brown to red to yellow. i used emphasis by drawing the attention to the blank space and drawing the background out. I changed a few things after i realized how oil pastels worked and realized i had to push the colors in a way. It was very difficult because i used the blending rolled paper to push the colors and realized i had to keep wiping it so I didn't get red in the yellow.
There isn't very much of a meaning, I just tried to draw the color from the leaves to the blank space. This does relate to my life because i like the fall season. What bothers me is what colors I used, I wish I used orange in there too. I think it would have helped the blending process a lot easier.
