Great job Kindergartners and Parents you are rocking these assignments! I am impressed by your creativity, initiative and thought process throughout these projects- keep building and creating! :)

Science/Journal

You will need your lego volcanoes for this experiment. Parents you will need baking soda and vinegar. First your child will predict what will happen. They can draw a picture of this in their journal. Next, complete the experiment by mixing the two liquids. Expand your questions using the five senses. What did you see, hear, etc? Draw a picture or explain what happens when you combine the two liquids. This could also be shared on Flip Grid.

Word Family Activity

Build a Flower -at -ug -ig -it word families. Teaching kids how to read and write word families increases their reading fluency.

Pick a word family from the above list. This will be shown in the middle of the flower. You will make a list of words that belong to the corresponding family. ( pig, rig, jig, big) Help your child stretch out the sounds to write the word. To differentiate for students ready to move on, they can use the word in a sentence. (See picture below)
