Journal

Set aside a few minutes each day for your child to write in their journal. Your child’s journal is inside their “Activity Bag” that was sent home last week. The goal is to encourage the children to match their story with their picture. Also, there is a writing checklist inside their notebooks. I encourage inventive spelling, stretching out the sounds in the word and writing what they hear. Also finger spaces between words.

    • Today’s Prompt: If I received 3 wishes, I would wish for...?

Word Work activities- Here are two different ways you can work on sight words and building words. In the first activity your child will write their sight words in a white crayon. Next, they will paint over with watercolor to reveal the word.

In activity number two, you make a list of CVC words, leaving the vowel sounds missing. Your child can use a post it note to fill in the missing letter. This can always be completed with guessing the beginning or ending sound in a word.

Also, continue to read your leveled books on RAZ KIDS.

Math 10 minute challenge: In ten minutes collect as many 3D shapes in your house! Categorize them by shapes when you are finished. Have fun!
