The Human Body

This week we began our unit on the human body! The K-kids learned about the Respiratory System and the important role of the lungs. They created their own lungs by labeling the trachea, alveoli, and bronchioles. The kiddos got to test out their finished product!

Next week we will learn about the heart and circulatory system and the children will make a life size body.

The 8th grade reading buddies visited us this week and the kindergartners were excited to see them. Together they created a character for their upcoming stories, and they worked so nicely with each other brainstorming ideas.

During this word work activity, the children sorted words to their corresponding word family-op, -ig, and -ip.

These kiddos are working hard and exploring new strategies during literacy time!

We continue to learn about our amazing bodies and how they work! We learned about the heart, lungs and the brain. The kiddos enjoyed tracing and creating a life size model!

In math we are working on partners of 10! The kiddos played a fun matching game where they had to match the amount on a tens frame to the partner that equals 10.

The children showcased their creativity making animals, flowers, and people. It was fun to see them think outside of the box.

In Reader's Workshop the children were sorting pictures about details and whether or not they were in the story.
