DAY 5

Welcome back to the 2nd week of remote learning!

Handwriting

A fun way to practice letter formation and spelling simple words is by using shaving cream. Designate a space in your house that you can use shaving cream. If you have a baking sheet at home this will help with quick and easy clean up. The children have done this many times in the classroom, so they are familiar with the activity. Sound out words and build simple sentences.

Language Arts

On Youtube, listen to the story, How I Became a Pirate, by Melinda Long and David Shannon and then complete the following response.

If you had treasure like the pirates, where would you hide it? Draw a map and tell why it would be a good hiding place.

You can show this with a picture or extend your thinking with a sentence to answer the prompt.

Art challenge from Mrs. Stein

You can still submit the Lui Bolin responses as well. (There will be two art challenges this week, so you may complete at a time that works best for you!)

Math

Complete one of your journal prompts. Show the answer two different ways. A number sentence (equation) and a picture. You can extend the problem but use different numbers to reinforce the idea.
