Interventions

The term "interventions" is multifaceted and can mean different things to different people depending on your perspective and need when looking for an intervention.

Wellness Centers see intervention through three lenses, Intervention Delivery, Evidence Based Practices and Mental Health Disorders. Depending on your need, follow the link for more information on one or all the interventions addressed through your Wellness Center.

Interventions, what we provide

The delivery of support for students can look many different ways. Wellness Center staff support students, families and staff. How interventions are delivered depends on the needs that present when engaging with Wellness. Click this link to see how and where services can be provided.

Evidence-based practice is the integration of the best available research with clinical expertise in the context of client characteristics, culture, and preferences. Wellness Center staff are trained in and use Evidence Based Practices that are proven to have a positive impact and outcome with adolescents. Although not a guarantee of positive outcomes, when students engage with good intention and participate in EBP services delivery outcomes are more positive then not. For a full list and description of the Evidence Based Practices used in our Wellness Centers follow this link.

The truth is we all have mental health! On any given day one in five teens across the United States struggles with a mental health issue. This does not necessarily mean they have a mental health disorder. Our mental health can fluctuate depending our stressors in our environment, biology, existing coping strategies, past experiences and for teens, level of development. Wellness Center staff are clinicians trained to treat mental health disorders and support students and families just going through a rough patch.
