WELLNESS SERVICES

Roseville Joint Union High School District is excited to offer Wellness Centers to support and serve students and families.  Wellness Centers focus on five areas that can impact student life academically, socially, emotionally  and/or behaviorally.  To find out more about the Wellness Center at your school or access services please contact your schools Wellness Coordinator or Mental Health Specialist.

If you or your student is struggling to get to school on time, getting up and ready of school is a challenge, transportation is not always consistent or there are other barriers to participating in school, please contact your schools Wellness Coordinator or Mental Health Associate.  We are here to help remove barriers to your full participation at school.

Teen years are full of new things and temptations to experiment.  RJUHSD California Health Kids Survey data reports that 25% of ninth and 38% of eleventh grade students report using alcohol or other illicit drugs to "get high".   We understand adolescent development and the culture of school campus and teens.  Wellness Centers have trained mental health staff who use evidence based practices to address this issue.  If you, a friend or you're the parent of a student who wants support to address use of substances including tobacco/vape we are here for you.  This is a confidential service.

Wellness Centers provide a continuum of support for students and families.  Students can be referred to individual or group therapy, check-in support or case management.  Often students walk into Wellness in crisis or to get help for a friend.  Wellness staff are trained to respond to the needs of students and families however they present.  Through a thorough assessment process students are referred for the service or support that best meets their needs.

Placer County is often referred to as being "resource rich".  Wellness Centers are connected to community based organizations through out the county.  Wellness is continually developing and maintaining important relationships with our community partners, we are not the end all to supports for students and families.  When we are unable to meet the needs of students and families we have capacity and relationships to refer to our community and county partners.

Mental Health

Like physical health and well being we all have mental health and wellness.  Throughout our lives our mental health can be influenced by many things, our environment, our biology or genetics and our experiences.  Understanding our state of mind and how our thoughts, feelings, behaviors and experiences play together is complicated and from time to time we need help identifying and understanding what we are experiencing and often how to develop strategies to cope.   At any given time one in five teens struggles with a mental health challenge.   Wellness Centers are staffed with trained therapist to support student mental health and wellness and provide confidential services.
