Gary Brown graduated in 1952. He attended school in Norman, Oklahoma and Memphis, Tennessee. Gary was drafted to the New York Yankees baseball farm team for Spring Training. He did many odd jobs during high school and later worked for Aerolite Trailers, Ralston Purina and then served in the Spokane Fire Department for twenty-seven years. Gary's community service includes the following: Served on the Executive Board for the Fire Fighters Union and he was also Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer, he served as trustee for the Washington State Fire Fighters, he served as President of Spokane Firemen's Credit Union, participated as "Santa" on the Spokane Fire Department Float, he participated in many fundraisers for the Spokane Fire Department including "Fill the Boot" for Muscular Dystrophy. He is a member of the Yuma Moose Lodge, and he taught CPR. He supports many fundraisers for John R. Rogers High School. After retiring to Arizona Gary and his wife started a Rogers reunion for snowbirds for ten years and then opened it up for all of Spokane's city schools retirees. He is an avid supporter of Rogers High School fundraisers. Gary and his wife have been married for 63 years and they have raised their three daughters in the Rogers' school district.
Terry graduated in 1950. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Washington State University and a Masters' Degree in Education from San Diego State University. Terry was stationed at the United States Naval Training Center in San Diego. He was a teacher for the Poway Unified School, and was also a tennis coach. He was a Teacher of the Year for San Diego County and received the head Coaches Award for the high School Sports Association of San Diego. Terry was All City and All State in football, and was nationally ranked in singles and doubles in tennis. Terry was "All City" in basketball where he received the long-held individual scoring record. He was also named Empire Athlete of the Year, and received the long-held individual Bill Stern Award as Spokane Athlete of the Year.
Bruce graduated in 1974. He received an Associate of Arts Degree from Spokane Community College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Yankton College, and a Master's Degree in Physical Education from Easter Washington University. Bruce is a Physical education instructor at Spokane Falls Community College where he is also the Head Women's Basketball coach. he also serves as the Department Chairman for Physical Education. Bruce is a four time Eastern Regional Coach of the year and has the second highest win total in NWAC Women's Basketball history. He was selected to the N.A.I.A District #12 All Star Team. Following Bruce's senior year at Yankton College he played professionally for the North Adelaide Rockets for three years, leading them to the South Australian Championship in 1984. Bruce is a member of the Yankton College hall of Fame as a "Greyhound Great". He is also a member of the Community College's Hall of Fame.
Mike graduated in 1979. Mike went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Eastern Washington University where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Business and Government. He received his Doctorate Degree from Gonzaga Law School and is currently practicing law in the firm of Powell, Kuznetz, and Parker P.S. he has always kept close ties with the Rogers community. He has two daughters both of whom teach in Spokane Public Schools. Mike is being a supporter of Grad Night and as an officer of the Rogers' Booster Club. Mike prides himself on being a Rogers' graduate and resident of the Northeast Spokane for more than 45 years. Softball has been a big part of Mike's life including playing on Regional and National teams. mike has coached girls club fast pitch teams involving Rogers' students for many years culminating in placing 5th Nationally in 2005. Over the years, Mike has been involved as a regular fundraiser for the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Society and has assisted the Nevada ? Lidgerwood Neighborhood Council. He is a past board member of the Spokane Native American Health Center and Spokane Public Schools Citizen Advisory Committee. AS an attorney Mike ahs provided countless free legal services to those in need and who was chosen Spokane County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyer of the Year.
Charles graduated in 1976. He attended Eastern Washington College and was a member of the Eagles' wrestling team that won the NAIA National Title in 1977. The following year he transferred to Washington State University and graduated in the spring of 1981 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Charles went to work for Boeing as part of the 767 Flight Controls Group. in 1986 he was presented with a Pride in Excellence Award for resolving a problem with the 767 Flap Control System. Charles moved to Phoenix in 1989 to work for Sperry Flight Systems where he developed an Autopilot for the British Aerospace BAE - 146. He was presented with a Peer Award in 1992 after moving to England supporting the Flight Test Program. Charles moved to Indonesia to help design the Flight Control System for a new 50 passenger turboprop. he spent the next 20 years living and working overseas for various aircraft manufacturers in Indonesia, Brazil, Switzerland, and Italy. Charles now resides on an island Northwest of Seattle near the Strait of San de Fuca where he enjoys hiking and bicycling. He practiced the art of Judo for over 30 years and has enjoyed studying and teaching in every country where he has lived.
Sharon graduated from West Valley High School in 1958 where she was an active member in the Silver Spurs Dance group which were able to perform all over the country and even appear on television. She was also a member of the all-girls' Pep Club, President of the Luther League, teacher of both Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and Honored Queen of Job's Daughters Bethel #18. Sharon received her Bachelors' and Masters' Degrees in Education from Whitworth College. She began her teaching career at Shaw Junior High because her moth-in-law taught at Rogers and in those days people who were related to each other were not allowed to teach at the same school. Sharon transferred to Rogers as soon as her mother-in-law retired. While teaching at Rogers she became the head of the Walk of Fame Program. She was a part of the Renaissance Program, and she is the chairperson of the Art Schoening Memorial Scholarship. She served as hostess for the Christmas Open Houses and all the retirement celebrations. She was on the committee to design the new school, and she was also the Chairman of the Courtesy Committee.
