Sandra (Sandi) Bentz

Sandi graduated in 1966. Her community involvement includes: Past President of John R. Rogers Booster club Spokane Lilac festival volunteer, John R. Rogers Alumni Scholarship Chairman, Downtown Women’s Shelter volunteer, Mentor for the Youth Job Program, and a Loaned Executive for the United Way. Her honors include: Golden Acorn Recipient, Director of the Month for the Lilac Festival, Manager of the Quarter for Bank of America, and President of the Spokane Lilac Festival.

Paul Clements

Paul graduated in 1989. He is a severely disabled young man who has Cerebral Palsy. He was in Who’s Who among students in American Universities and Colleges in 1993-1994. He received his BA in psychology in 1996 and is currently working on a Masters Degree in social work. He has been active on many committees concerning the disabled, is on the board for Easter Seals, the Spokane Country board (Community Services), has been involved in PSI CHI (the National Honor Society in Psychology) and CHI ALPHA (a Christian Group).

James (Jim) Fuller

James graduated in 1948. He received his BS in Civil Engineering from WSU after attending the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. James has many community involvements including: Whitworth Water District Commissioner, Outdoor Ministry Department, Project Development Committee, Citizen Committee on Storm Water Management, Aquifer Protection Committee, Land Use Planning Committee, North Spokane Sewer Committee, Basketball Coach, American Arbitration Association, Crisis Counselor for Vietnam Vets, and many others. He also has many honors including: Civil Engineer Merit Award; Officer and President of Civil and Professional Engineers; President of the Reserve Officers Association, Outstamding Senior Engineering Student at WSU; the Purple Heart, Distinguished Flying Cross, Aviator Badge, Combat Infantry Badge, and the Air Medal with Cluster from the US Army; Sigma Tau Honorary; and Tau Beta PI.

Alfonse (Al) Hill

Al graduated in 1943. He served in the army in World War II in the South Pacific. After Graduating from Whitworth College, he earned his Masters in Education from Eastern Washington University. Al was a music teacher at Glover and Havermale and numerous grade schools in Spokane. He was the director of the All City Boys Choir and the choirs at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and the Unitarian Universalist Church. He was a soloist with the Spokane Choral Society and performed in two operas. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church, served on the board of Camp Fire Boys and Girls and the Eastern Washington Historical Society, and was a member of the Spokane Retired Teachers Association and the Spokane County Community Public Health and Safety Network. He was also President of the Spokane Human Relations Council and of the Spokane Choral Society.

Rich Shulkin

Rich graduated in January of 1943. He receives his Bachelor of Education and his Master of Education from Eastern Washington State University. Rich spent over thirty years in education as a teacher, football coach, and athletic director. His community involvement includes directing state athletic tournaments. He received a Service Commendation from the Special Olympics. His awards include twenty-five year award from Greater Spokane Sports Association, a Service Commendation from the Washington Secondary Schools Athletic Association, and a commendation form the Frontier Athletic League. Rich is a lifetime member of the Washington State Coaches Association and Washington Secondary Schools Athletic Administrators Association.
