Dick graduated in 1958. He received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Washington State University, a Master of Public Health Degree from the University of California, Berkeley; and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Dick served as Vice President of Kaiser Permanente's corporate program for medical economics, marketing, and health policy. He served as commissioner of the Physician Payment Review Commission, which was responsible for making annual recommendations to Congress concerning the federal Medicare Program. Dick's community involvement included being chairman of the Oakland YMCA, director of the y Indian Guides Program, and raising funds for the YMCA's new building in Oakland, California. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Alpine Peaks residents Association. Dick has been awarded the Outstanding Service Award for the Greater Oakland YMCA.
John graduated in 1938. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering at WSU. He was president of the dormitory, president of the Student Senate Club, and he led the Campus War Bond Committee. John was assigned to the U.S. 's World War II secret project to develop jet engines. As an automobile dealer John was awarded Time Magazine's Dealer-of-the-Year for Washington State. John was a member of many service and professional organizations in Walla Walla including: Masonic Blue Mountain Lodge, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite, Freemasonry, El Katif Shrine Temple in Spokane, and past President of the Shrine Club. His service in Rotary International included being a Rotarian of Merit. He served on the Board of Trustees for the Washington State Auto Dealers Insurance Trust and on the Northwest Ford Dealers Advertising Association Board of Directors. John was also in the Elks BPOE, the Walla Walla Jaycee's, Director of the Chamber of Commerce, the YMCA, the Fort Walla Walla Museum, and would sponsor 4-H and FFA events in the community annually. He received a merit award from teh National Highway Users Federation for Driving Training program support.
Ashley graduated in 1993. Her education includes the following: General Practice Residency at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Audie Murphy Veteran Affairs Hospital, Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Washington University, and a senior year scholarship at Copernicus Gymnasium in Phillipsburg, Germany. Ashley's volunteer activities include the following: Roger's Pirates Football Captain Leadership Training, student faculty assistant and Student Council Treasure for the University of Washington School of Dentistry, and she also volunteers at a couple of churches. Her awards include the following: Dr. William Kramer Award of Excellence from Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society at the University of Washington of Dentistry, and the Dean's list at Eastern Washington University. Dr. Ulmer has worked at the Kaiser Permanente Volunteer Free Clinic, the Veteran's Dental outpatient Clinic, the AIDS Clinic, and has done mission work in Belize. Ashley is involved in the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association, the Spokane District Dental Society, and the Spokane District Dental Society Foundation. She assists in the IDEA Clinic, which is a facility for individual dentists to provide treatment and solutions for people who are unable to afford dental care.
Wayne graduated in 1947. he received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Easter Washington University and an MA in Education from Whitworth University. Wayne served in the Army in South Korea where he earned the rank of Corporal in the United States Army. He then went on as an elementary and junior high school teacher for District #81 where he coached basketball, track, and football. His community involvement included the following: President of the Little League Association in Walla Walla, Officer of the Junior Chamber of Commerce in Walla Walla, Community Chest Leader in Wall Walla, and he has helped to organize John R. Roger's High School reunions. Wayne's recognition and honors include: working with youth as part of the Little League Association in Walla Walla, Spokane Parks & Recreation Department Leadership Award for working with youth, and the Inland Empire Hall of Fame for softball. He is a strong supporter of community events such as Bloomsday, the Turkey Trot, and Hoopfest.
