Wayne graduated in 1949. He received both his B.S. and his M.S. in Education from the University of Idaho. Wayne’s community involvement and recognition includes the following: University of Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame, the Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame, the University of Idaho Vandal Legends 2000, the American Legion, and the Elks Brotherhood. Wayne’s professional awards include the following: Partners of the Americas and NCAA Sponsored Clinic in Ecuador, State of Idaho High School Coaches Clinic Speaker, Bob Houbreg's Basketball Camp College Coach, Conifer Basketball Camp College Coach, numerous baseball clinic speaking engagements, and Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year Award in basketball and baseball. Wayne spent 30 years at the University of Idaho as a coach and administrator, and he was also a high school teacher and coach. Wayne’s positions at the University of Idaho included the following: Assistant Athletic Director, Head Basketball Coach, Head Baseball Coach, Assistant Basketball Coach, Assistant Football Coach, and Director of Intramurals and Acting Instructor of Physical Education. Wayne received an ROTC scholarship and received his commission upon graduating from college. He was a First Lieutenant in charge of an instructional group for all trainees in the Army at Ft. Ord. California.
Wayne graduated in 1956. He received a degree in education at Eastern Washington University and then received a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant through the ROTC. Wayne taught at Odessa for three months before entering the Army in 1962. He spent 1966 in Viet Nam where he amassed over 1,000 hours of combat flight time. Wayne crashed in enemy territory once but was quickly rescued by U.S. soldiers. He finished his career as a Lieutenant Colonel. Wayne received various medals from his time in the Army in Viet Nam and he was selected as a flight instructor both by the Army and Northwest Airlines. In both cases he had to be in the top of his group to even be considered and he had to pass a rigorous training to become an instructor. Wayne’s community involvement includes: volunteering for the Bellevue Little League for 20 years including five years during which he was president, volunteering for the Peoria Diamond Club which helps raise money for West Valley of Phoenix youth organizations, he still works with Valley Little League as a coach, he is a referee for Upwards flag football, and he is on the board of Directors of the John R. Rogers Alumni & Friends Foundation.
Larry graduated in 1955. He took several classes at Spokane Community College pertaining to sales to prepare himself for his career where he spent twenty-five years before retiring. Larry also spent eight years in the Navy Reserves training on various ships. His community involvement and recognition includes the following: coaching Little League Baseball, Junior National Football, and Men’s Slow Pitch Softball. Larry has been involved with the Children’s Miracle Network for Spokane, has volunteered for Shop For a Cure (which is an M.S. Fundraiser), he has been involved in several reunions for the Class of 1955, he chaired the all-school reunion of 2008, and he volunteers every year at the Big Horn Sportsman Show. Larry and his wife Donna were chosen as Good Neighbors for the north side of Spokane in 2007 and they took fourth place in a city-wide garden contest in 1998.
