IGCSE Business Studies aims to enable candidates:

KEY KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Students will learn to:
Make effective use of relevant terminology, concepts and methods, and recognise the strengths and limitations of the ideas used in business
Apply their knowledge and critical understanding to current issues and problems in a wide range of business contexts
Distinguish between facts and opinions through critical analysis, and evaluate qualitative and quantitative data to help build arguments and make informed judgments
Develop the skills of numeracy, literacy, enquiry, selection and use of relevant sources of information, presentation and interpretation.
METHOD OF ASSESSMENT
All candidates take two components, Paper 1 and Paper 2:
Paper 1 is a written paper. Four questions requiring a mixture of short answers and structured data responses are asked. Candidates answer all questions. The total mark for paper 1 is 80 marks which is 50% of the total marks.
Paper 2 is a written paper. Four questions are asked based on a case study, provided as an Insert with the paper. Candidates are required to answer all questions. The total mark for paper 2 is 80 marks which is 50% of the total marks.

Business Studies introduces students to finance, accounting, marketing, and human resources management. Those who take the subject can learn how money moves and changes from market to market and what human factors cause those fluctuations. Managing employees is also an important aspect of business studies.
