DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE
IGCSE Accounting is about understanding the theory and concepts of accounting, and their applications in various business situations within a modern economic environment. An Accounting student is numerate – though not necessarily good in higher mathematics, logical, analytical and has good problem-solving and presentation skills.

Learners focus on the skills of recording, reporting, presenting and interpreting financial information; these form an ideal foundation for further study, and for a future career within the profession.
The syllabus is structured so that learners attain both practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
Our programmes balance a thorough knowledge and understanding of a subject and help to develop the skills learners need for their next steps in education or employment.
Topics include: The Purpose of Accounting, Sources and Recording of Data, Verification of Accounting, Accounting Principles and Policies, Accounting Procedures, Principles of Financial Statements, Analysis and Interpretation.
All candidates take two papers.
Paper 1 - 1 hour 15 minutes Paper 2 - 1 hour 45 minutes
