English and Mathematics: All students must take English First Language and Mathematics for IGCSE.  For mathematics, there are two tier groups – one preparing for the Extended Papers, and the other for the Core Papers. The maximum possible grade on the Core tier is a C. Higher attainment grades are possible only on the extended tier. 

Science: All students must choose at least one Science subject. It is possible to choose Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Environmental Management. Core and Extended tiered papers are available in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. 

Physical Education: All students in Years 10 and 11 will have one lesson per week in Physical Education to allow for participation in healthy exercise. While this lesson is compulsory, it is not examined. 

Activities: The Regent Secondary School is committed to developing well-rounded individuals. To this end, students are expected to participate in the After School Activities programme throughout Years 10 and 11.
