Since the beginning of our existence we have shared our planet with an immense variety of wildlife that help us maintain a natural balance. For 50 years, half of all that variety has been lost fairly quickly; this is due to the way in which we have been altering their habitats over the years.
According to the WWF, by 2030 with the end of the Decade for Ecosystem Restoration, it is intended that 30% of the world's surface be managed in such a way that wildlife is taken into account through areas of conservation, which would help to stop the loss of thousands of specimens.
The Jane Goodall Institute for Wildlife Research and Conservation, Sustainable Development and Education invites us to take these simple actions to contribute to wildlife conservation:
1. Learn, research and share with your close people the types of flora and fauna that are found near you, as well as the threatened species that they can protect
2. Meet, go to visit green areas, refuges and parks. The best way is to get involved and participate; By going to refuges, you contribute to their conservation and improvement.
3. Maintain a safe space for wildlife, keep your waste container covered to prevent the consumption of food remains. Do not leave your pets outside your house, remember that they can spread diseases.
4. Promotes the development of vegetation, sows endemic plants and trees. The vegetation serves as a refuge for wildlife; It is important that native plants are used to avoid the proliferation of invasive vegetation that impacts the ecosystem.
5. Use of friendly chemicals, there are aggressive herbicides and pesticides for the environment, which can harm wildlife, make sure that the chemicals you use are friendly to the environment and the animals around you.
6. Drive carefully, slow down to let wildlife pass that needs to travel where we live.
7. Do not endanger endangered species, avoid supporting the illegal market by buying animal skins, shells, horns, eggs and even hunting, these activities promote the danger of extinction and the deterioration of wildlife.
