In very simple terms, sustainability is the balance between 3 main axes:
Economic
Social
Environmental
If any of the axes are needed, we are not being sustainable.
To clarify the points, imagine that a plastic packaging factory will open near your home, with the opening of the factory jobs will be generated, which will promote 2 of the 3 axes: the social axis and the economic axis. All your neighbors and the people who live near the neighborhood are very happy because they will have new job opportunities, apparently it is an internationally recognized company, so it is said that they are paying quite well, even more than the average pays and job growth projections look pretty good.
After a few months of opening, the workers realize that the vegetation near the factory is dying and one of the bodies of water that are nearby has changed color, in addition to the fact that they have found dead fish and occasionally they are perceived unpleasant odors.
Time passes and in an inspection they realize that one of the pipes with toxic remains from the factory runs through green areas and empties into the body of water, which shows that the factory is polluting. By polluting, the sustainable balance is broken since one of the 3 axes is not met, the environmental axis.
The sustainability of our company is very important to us; That is why we attend to the environmental, economic and social needs of the communities where we have a presence.
