Super Sculpey remains workable until cured in a normal domestic oven, a general rule to cure this clay is to bake at 130 °C for 15 minutes per 6 mm of thickness
Super Sculpey is supplied in 454g (1lb) boxes. Colour: pink / beige only.
Typically used for model making, prototypes, toy making.
After curing, Super Sculpey bakes to a ceramic-like hardness and can be sanded to a fine finish. Super Sculpey should be cured in a preheated oven (135ºC / 275ºF) for 15 minutes per quarter inch (6mm) of thickness. Where models are over an inch (25mm) of thickness a layering technique and part baking is recommended. Can be finished with acrylic paint. Add a glossy glaze with Sculpey glass add to your polymer clay project. Can be applied before or after baking and will not peel.
Polymer clays are made of vinyl/PVC, which is a significant pollutant and health hazard. Plastic pollution is a growing concern, due to the overabundance of plastic and the dangerous chemicals it produces as it breaks down.
Once baked, the clay is safe and relatively non-toxic. Super Sculpey is safe to cure or bake in your home oven. If you burn polymer clay, small amounts of irritating vapor can be emitted, so work in a well ventilated room.
