Chavant (Non Sulphurated Plasticine) is a sulphur free professional oil based sculpting clay. It is a non-drying modelling clay.
A block of 26.9 x 19.8 x 7.6 cm Chavant weighs 4.51 Kg.
Chavant may require some heat to soften it to your required working consistency. The ideal softening range is 44 55ºC. It can be heated using a hotplate to make it spreadable.
Chavant has excellent adhesive properties sticking readily to itself or the armature wire. The Clay is tough but firm, and has the ability to hold excellent detail. The Clay can be smoothed with water, or (taking adequate precautions) lighter fuel or turpentine spirit.

Ideal material for model making, It is used by Sculpture and Film Studios creating models and sculptures prior to having a mould made. Chavant clays perform excellently when using silicone rubber to take a mould.
