The Angels Around Us
by Michael Denson, 8th grade
I wrote my literature piece about the regular people in our world who make it a better place to live. These people remind me of angels, because they bring hope and peace to us when they show their kindness. These people are the ones who make the progress of goodness in our society everyday. This gives me hope which is why I decided to make my project about the regular people in our environment, the everyday angels around us.

One Day
by Shania Phillip, 8th grade
In my poem, One Day I have written about how hope can be found only if you believe in it. Like a small bird that can’t fly yet, I felt hopeless like I could never be like everybody else. I was different because I didn't have the strengths and couldn't do what everyone else could. I wrote this poem to show that there is hope for a day when you can accept yourself for who you are, one day.

Writing to Hope
by Marina Farah, 7th grade
I wrote this poem because I love to write about my own characters and what happens in their lives. When I tell these characters and stories to my friends, they tell me they love it. That brings me more confidence and hope in how I write stories. Writing about the things I love and sharing them with the people I love makes me feel hope and happiness.

Hope is the Anchor
by Morgan Mayeda, 8th grade
I wrote this poem to signify the process of hope. Hope provides stability and a sense of purpose during uncertain times. Hope brings new opportunities, growth, and exciting experiences. Hope is an anchor. Hope gives you something to hold onto and to look forward to. Hope is the guiding light that helps you navigate through the stormy seas. Hope keeps you grounded when the waves of change are crashing around you. Hope gives you strength and motivation to keep pushing forward, no matter what challenges come. So hold onto hope and let it be your anchor in times of change.
