Helping Student's Work
by Henry Ramirez, 6th grade
I will change the world by helping other people who are struggling in school. It could be my friends or other students. I will help them to receive good grades. For example, I have a friend in class who is struggling with math, I asked him if he needed help, and finally he said yes. I was able to help him by giving him examples.

The World Of Kindness
by Michael Denson, 6th grade
I drew a beautiful hiking waterfall to represent the world, with a banner around it that says, "kindness". Can you imagine if everyone in this world was kind to each other? There wouldn't be so many wars, or bad people, or even bullies.
Award of Merit
Planting trees
by Adrian Guzman, 6th grade
If people don’t have trees in their world, how would animals call home without trees and how could we even breathe without trees?
Honorable Mention
Help needed stetters
by Sabrina Doerr, 6th grade
I will change the world by helping animals. You can adopt older dogs and cats. If you don't adopt older dogs then they will have to put them down without a loving family. Same thing with the older cats too.

Saving our ocean, earth, and animals
by Yumie Lee, 6th grade
I will change the world by picking up trash and motivating others to pick up their trash.
In my artwork I drew people having a good time at the beach, while underneath the ocean, animals are suffering. I used paper straws as the base because people usually use plastic. I put a bag hanging on the bottom, filled with trash at the beach because It shows how many little pieces of trash sea creatures could eat. I drew birds on top because sea animals are not the only ones suffering. Lastly, I added a sun to represent global warming.

The Gaze of Hope
by Ayla Dowdell, 6th grade
The artist’s intention for this drawing was that a girl is looking into hope for a brighter future. Alas, she is unable to commence the challenge herself due to the situation she is currently in, she yearns for a better society.

Manifesting Equality
by Evelyn Grigg, 8th grade
My piece is called Manifesting Equality and presents protesting and free speech as a way to change the world. There is a lot of inequality in society, and the only way we can really change anything is by letting ourselves be heard. Nothing will fix itself, and more often than not other people won't fix things for you. But speaking up will draw eyes to you, as represented by the spotlight in the piece. You will feel alone, as represented by the darkness. Ultimately it's worth it, as speaking out will change things and raise awareness.
Honorable Mention
Mother Maybe
by Ranna Payamfar, 8th grade
I will change the world by giving women their own rights in which abortion is a legal option. In many countries, abortion is illegal, while in others, abortion is only allowed to save the women's life or to preserve her physical health. As judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg stats "A women has the fundamental right to make this choice for herself." My artwork is symbolizing the choices a women has over childbirth and that all women should be respected in the choices they make.
Honorable Mention
Blooming Youth
by Deeksha Prasad, 8th grade
Blooming Youth shows that change comes through the evolution of people.I can change the world by growing strong to make the world better. This is represented through the growth of the flower throughout the piece, from the wilting flower, to the seed in the ground, to it slowly growing into a fully blooming rose.
Honorable Mention
Change
by Morgan Mayeda, 6th grade
Our world can be scary and overwhelming at times. When I feel like I don’t fit in, I feel lonely and afraid. Many people only care about what they want and ignore other people's needs. If someone didn’t care about your needs, how would you feel? You don’t have to be President to make a difference. Changing the world requires someone who’s willing to take time to show they care. Just like Paul Shane Spear said, "As one person, I may not be able to change the world, but I can change the world of one person.

Cleaner Earth, Cleaner Us.
by Giselle Palacios, 7th grade
I did a collage of photos taken around my neighborhood. I took some pictures of nature and some pictures that relate to what I wrote about. My work is double sided, on one side there is more photography and on the other there are interesting facts and a small piece of writing of how things like small trash cans can help earth and our environment from dangerous greenhouse gasses. I took pictures because photography is my passion. Every photo has a story and every story has a lesson. So I hope I can change the world starting with our environment.
Honorable Mention
Sharing Knowledge Around the World
by Jolene Nguyen, 6th grade
I will change the world by sharing my knowledge with others. I want to travel the world and teach others what I have learned. I want to share my knowledge with others in countries that don't provide them with the same opportunities as I have. I also want to learn from them about their lives and their cultures. We are all stronger when we have more knowledge.
Honorable Mention

Give old away
by Naomi Molina Gonzalez, 6th grade
My drawing is about how we can give our old things away to people in need in Mexico. You can give your old things to Mexico like for example shirts, pants, shoes, socks, and toys. Give your things to an organization like Help Save Children in Mexico. I have a family in Mexico that is smaller than me, and I would like to help them and give them a pair of clothes to change in everyday.

A beautiful city that we can fix
by Giselle Perez Lopez, 7th grade
How I would change is the world is by picking up trash. Our city is very important and people around the world come to visit. We want people to feel welcome in a clean environment. How we can help is to pick up trash, recycling, and not littering. I drew a street that has trash all over the place and a homeless person sleeping at the bus stop and how we can help clean the streets.
Honorable Mention
I Will Change The World By Cleaning Up The Beach.
by Veronika Rasskazova, 8th grade
People can help the community by cleaning up the beach. Every day, people come to the beach, swim, and have picnics. They also leave trash, a lot of it. To make my idea happen, I will ask my friends, family and their friends and family to help. We will divide into a few groups. One will pick up the trash, the other will sort it out. The last group will put trash into bags and throw them away. I decided to do it because every day so many sea creatures are dying because of plastic that gets in the ocean.
drawing
by Nicolas Ramirez, 7th grade
I want people to know that nobody is alone in this world. If everyone stands with each other, we can understand each other better. I can change the world by letting people know they deserve to feel comfortable. We should all work on being kind to each other, no matter what because you never know what another person is going through. One time when I was having a bad day, the person in front of us paid for our meal for no reason, this reminded me about the importance of being kind.
Do not litter
by Omid Noory, 6th grade
I can change the world by picking up trash. This can change the world by not living in a trash environment and if we live in a polluted place a lot of animals can get hurt. If we can pick aleast five to ten pieces of trash up each day, that is how we can change the world. If we pick up trash our world can be a good place with barely any trash. That is how I can change the world.
I drew a school I want to have in El Salvador
by Valleriae Suarez, 6th grade
This is my drawing. My drawing is my dream. My dream is that kids from El Salvador can go to school, because not many can. I dream that one day I will see a big smile on the kid’s faces and have their school uniform on and be ready to go to school like us! This is how I would change the world, and it is my dream to happen.
Clean Beach
by Natalie Sanchez, 7th grade
I will change the world by picking up trash at the Beach. So there will be no trash and no harm to the sea animals. I will start by getting my friends to help me and maybe some volunteers too. My second step will be to go to the beach with trash bags and start picking up trash. I hope I can make a change even if it’s a small one Because I want there to be a clean beach for everyone to have and enjoy.
City Cleanup
by Daniella Sirvas, 7th grade
I will change the world by picking up trash. It’s very easy to do and anyone could do it. Picking up trash can help marine life and the city streets. No one likes to see rubbish in the ocean or the sidewalk. Have you ever wondered where all the debris and trash goes in the ocean? Most of it goes into this vortex of trash in the middle of the ocean it is called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. It´s an area twice the size of Texas, three times the size of France (1.6 million square kilometers).
Affects of Trash in the Ocean.
by Anthony Garcia Hernandez, 8th grade
My project is going to be a drawing that shows how trash is bad and how it can make people feel unsafe and how it can affect us humans and animals in a bad way. One way that it affects animals is that they can eat things that they think are food but it is no food making them sick and die. One way that it can affect humans is making land turn bad and fill the streets making bad smells and making people think it is a bad place to live and just bad overall.
Tree Lusion
by Nicholas Pacheco, 6th grade
My work is about how important trees are and what they are used for
Trash clean Up
by Sebastian Pulido, 6th grade
My drawing is about picking up trash. It has a trash bag and someone to pick up the trash and throwing it away. Or recycling. Picking up trash is important because it can go to a junk place or land. We don’t want water bottles to go into the junk place because those can be reused. Recycling them will make the room go faster. There are not that many people that help throw trash away.
Pick up trash
by Aira Kuwano, 6th grade
In my art I would like to show people picking up trash.
Mom and kids pickup trash at the park.
Taking responsibility for picking up trash
by Saul Chavez-Jaime, 7th grade
This is about how people don't pick up trash and gust leave it there because it might fly in the sea and if the trash flies in the sea the sea creature won't survive because they eat the dirty trash that is in the sea, and the second thing is that people don't pick up they trash and leave it there until someone picks it up and then people want to help people by picking up the trash and making a go environment.
One Step at a Time
by Abigail Borge, 7th grade
My work relates to the theme because one step can make a difference. When I go to school or a personal related event, I see trash, smog, and more smog. When I see these things I think to myself, "No one is doing anything." When I see a piece of trash I go and pick it up. For one step can lead to a huge difference.
Help Clean Up Earth and Recycle
by Kai Fernandez, 6th grade
My work relates to the theme because it shows how I want to change the world by cleaning it up. My comic artwork explains how one guy does not recycle, and it is good to recycle to help clean up our planet.
Being kind
by Francesca Hernandez, 6th grade
I will change the world by being a kind person, So like picking up trash because you need to be kind and take care of the environment.Another example is by picking the trash in the ocean to take care of the animals and other creatures in the ocean.Another example is by being kind to the people that were not as nice with you because even tho you might not be so happy with that person , that is part of being kind to the world.
Help Matters
by Sophia Santa-Maria, 6th grade
I will change the world by giving people a home. Some people in LA don't have any money to pay rent or don't have a home. They might not be able to see what having a home is like.sometimes they end up in the street and unable to feed their family. The reason i want to do this is because its not fair for the people not to have a home.I few weeks ago i went to LA.we pasted this big park but there were people on the streets sleeping.I felt bad.
No bullying zone
by Bruno Hernandez, 6th grade
I will change the world by stopping bullies so we won’t have problems with the bullies and stop littering so we don’t have problems in the street or the ocean. Set up petitions to take down bullies and stop littering, and care about people’s health, safety, etc. So they care about you too. If you care about them, if you are nice to people they will want to help you and be friends or they will be nice to you back. If we do all these things we will change the world, Be the same.
Saving the Ocean
by Valentina Tracy, 6th grade
I will change the world by saving the oceans. How sad would it be if we can't go to our beaches and swim because of too much plastic debris? By using paper straws and reducing our use of plastic we can save our oceans. If we don't act now, there is a chance there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050. We need to work together to make this happen. This pollution is a people problem and we the people can also be the solution. Respect our Oceans and Be Mindful!
I will change the world by teaching english to my japanese friends.
by Kaisei Nakagawa, 6th grade
My art is showing that I'm teaching my friend a english.if you get to adult you are going to use a lots of english for the jobs. If I can speak English, it will be useful for work in the future, so if I become a sailor, for example, people from various countries will gather, so I think it is better to learn English
I will change this world by... taking care of and loving our planet
by Hannah Vecchiarelli, 6th grade
The earth is not for only humen but also for animals and plants. Without it, nothing can exist. We need to save this plant for all.
