With my smile and my hello - SA-L-01.pdf

With My Smile And My "Hello"

by Michael Denson, 6th grade

I wrote a poem on how to change the world with my smile and my "hello". I think it's important to be kind by giving people a smile and saying hello to everyone, even if you don't know them. Doing those things makes people feel happy.

On the Rooftop - Deeksha Prasad

On the Rooftop

by Deeksha Prasad, 8th grade

In this piece “ on the rooftop” , a girl changes the world around her and her own world by the courage of her words and taking a few seconds to care. This piece represents the theme "I Will Change the World By" showing that taking the time to talk a few words to a complete stranger can make a difference between life and death. Hopes and dreams of people keep the world going and each of us play a small part in making our world and each other’s worlds just that much more better.

Voice for the Voiceless - MS-L-03

I Can Change the World by Being a Voice for the Voiceless

by Madeleine O'Neal, 8th grade

My poem relates to the theme by talking about how I want to change the world by fighting for animal rights. In my poem, I mention how I will do everything I can and spread the word of the harms of eating meat. I want to show people that there are consequences to eating the way we do. People don't know the hidden processes of food production, particularly meat production, and I want to make them aware of this.

Tall, Tall Walls - Deeksha Prasad

Tall, Tall Walls

by Deeksha Prasad, 8th grade

Tall, Tall, Walls is about opening yourself up to the people around you, and letting yourself feel rather than closing emotions off. Everyone sees the world in different perspectives, so in a way, everyone is in their own world. You can change your world by opening up yourself to others and letting yourself be happy.
