At every point when fostering learning partnerships and relationships in the classroom, teachers must consider their position and identity. How our identities and experiences shape our mindset and skills directly impacts how we see students, and how students experience us on a daily basis. The National Equity Project developed these tools for conceptualizing how Identity, Mindset, and Skill influence student learning.
As you read, think about:
Do I think about bridge building in my classroom, between myself and my students?
What mindsets and skills do my students bring to the classroom? How can I learn from them?
