What's the learning?

Sometimes when you are painting greens, its helpful to mix lots of puddles of green from a starting point - some warmer, some cooler. Small flecks of dark and light paint in the foreground will help to break up a flat plane of green growth.

Notice the green trees in the background - they look further away because they have more blue and white in them and the contrast (difference between light and dark) is lower. Remember there is atmosphere between you and objects...particles of air and water that are lit by light - the further they are away the more the objects look like the colour of the sky...Nice!
