The following disciplinary measures are disapproved:
All corporal punishment, including shaking and slapping
Language that belittles or ridicules a student, his or her parents/guardians, or his or her family background
Using religious exercises as punitive measures. Encouraging contemplation or similar spiritual practices as a means of reflection is acceptable.
Bizarre and unusual punishments
Withholding or altering rightfully earned academic grades
Any disciplinary action that isolates a student without proper supervision
