The Liturgical ministry is made up of students who represent the student body during weekly and other masses by taking part in the different ministries that serve and support the mass. Taking part in this ministry means you are asking to represent the school not just during the completion of your duties but also at all other times. Fellow students, and community members will look up to you as they see you completing your tasks at the pulpit or the altar so it is important that they see you living your faith both while performing your ministry and while living your life.
Alter servers support the liturgical celebration of the People of God through supporting the priest on the alter. This is done through taking part in the liturgical procession, holding candles during the reading of the Gospel, setting the alter, and supporting the priest in other tasks during the celebration of holy mass as well as during other prayer services.
Lectors support liturgical celebrations and other sacred rituals through reading the Word of God to the people. Lectors may read scripture from the Hebrew Scripture (Old Testament), the Responsorial Psalm, and/or Christian Scripture (New Testament) during the celebration of the liturgy of the word during mass or other ritual celebrations and prayer services.
