As a Catholic School based in the Roman Catholic Tradition, all students are required to take part in our Religion Curriculum. The Religion Curriculum is treated as an academic subject similar to all other academic subjects. All grades provide a religion course in which they use the curriculum Christ Our Light published by Loyola Press. While participation in the time and course is required, students are invited to bring in their own beliefs and practices into the class discussions and activities. Grades, when applicable, are based upon participation in activities, assignments and class, not on a students belief or expressed agreement or disagreement with Roman Catholic Doctrine.
Students will be tested annually on their knowledge of the Roman Catholic faith and their personal beliefs using the Assessment of Religious Knowledge (ARK) online testing program. This testing will be done yearly and is used for the continued development and updating of the Religion Curriculum and does not impact a students Religion grade.
