When a student is absent, the parent/guardian must submit a written excuse through the "Absent note" on the school app.
The school shall keep excuses on file for one year.
Excused absences include illness, medical or dental appointments, funeral services for family members, quarantine directed by city or county officials, or emergencies or special circumstances as determined by the school. Excessive absences may result in the loss of academic credit.
If a child has been diagnosed as having a contagious disease, please submit the absence through the "Absent Note" on the school app. The child may not return to school without a doctor's note stating that he or she is able to return to school.
Medical and dental appointments should be scheduled after school to cut down on absenteeism.
If parents/guardians wish to temporarily take their child out of school for family reasons, the principal and teacher should discuss with the parents/guardians the possible effects of such an absence. It is advisable that the school keep on file a record of the recommendation made to the parents/guardians.
