Mask is used for many purpose: prevent Covid-19, toxic smell, etc.
So I made this mask with materials that often been used for industrial prototype. (in many cases are toxic)
Based on the Utopian Body article, me and my teammates came up with a question: "Will soul lives when the body dies? " We believe that soul will go upward and last forever after the body decades. We place this piece next to a tree because the soul is growing from the earth (the dead body) just like trees.
And this is our response.
As rings
Using clay material
I made this ring for my aromatic avatar. I like Chaplin's silence movie. I love his sense of humor and his movies are often critical. So I made this mustache. Unlike normal rings, it's a ring for fingertips.
When people talking too laud around you, use this ring and "Shush".

This project is a combination of two different work: the one with the rose is the artwork being created after hearing the soundtrack, and the "Almost Christmas..." is the sound piece that I created.
The "Ghost" soundtrack gives me a endless and lonely feeling. The picture came to my mind is an object came to an end.
For the sound piece one, I created a scent that smell like garlic cream soup which is interacting with the sound piece.

In Chinese Myth, the god of cloud can fall in love with human. I draw this painting for their love story. The cloud parts are scented with the green note, dark wood note, and smoke note in the scent kit.
The ritual I worked with is the Sky Burial from Tibet. In some area in Tibet, people sacrifice the dead human bodies to the vulture. They want to do the last good thing to the world after they die. Bodies need to be cut into pieces and then feed the birds. So I decided to translate that into something similar but adding a sense of humor to it.
My project is called Sins To Go Pack. You can write down your sin of the day on the bread and then cut it into pieces. When you go out, you can carry it with you and feed the New York pigeons.
This is a love potion I made, I wrote down a note and knit it in the heart. The heart is scented with my favorite cologne. The bag is designed to keep my beloved objects.
For my sanctuary project, I combine several things that make me feel secured in my daily life. In our generation, social media has a big impact on us. I do part time modeling when I was back in China. Me and other photographers often create arts together. In our art works, we express our emotions, our hopes, and basically another me that can't exist in reality. Making those photographs helps me relaxing, which I found that can be my sanctuary. There's a famous photographer that I want to commemorate. In his works, he always let his model dressed like god. He want to create god in his arts to spread love and piece to the world. So I decided to set the background like a heaven, and people who get into the booth become the god. (the model) And when people participate in the booth can feel secured because of the cotton and lighting.
I made this photo booth with a computer frame. The lights working with cotton to set a heavenly background. (referring to Renaissance oil painting) The frame is a computer screen that represent social media.
