Description: Half of an orange, hallowed out, and baked sitting on top of a baked orange slice to create the base and bowl of the jewelry dish. Inside, there are fairy lights surrounded by baked orange slices that are stacked in an angular position against each other to create a small lamp in the center of the dish that illuminates the jewelry around it.
Process: Baking the orange pieces allows for the peel/skin to harden to create a strong structure, the flesh/pulp of the orange to become slightly translucent, and the citrusy scent of the orange combines with a caramelized scent from the natural sugars in the fruit being baked.
Scent: Baked Citrus Fruit, Vanilla Extract, Mint
Description: A collaborative project where we explored the different ways in which we could break the boundaries of architecture and bring the concept of "Candy Land" to life. A storage box was the base of the project, colored ceramic/glass tiles to mimic the look of Jolly Rancher candies, melted Jolly Rancher sculptures, cotton balls used as a carrier of the sweet candy scent we made and to imitate clouds for the childlike/fantastical atmosphere of "Candy Land", mirrors to expand the space by reflecting light and the space of the box, candy wrappers, cellophane wrap, and fairy lights.
Process: Each member took part in bringing in supplies and assembling the box.
Scent: Created Sweet/Candy Scent, Jolly Ranchers, Bubblegum
Description: A project in which we create masks that have an olfactory element. The approach each individual takes is up to them and the mask can be as functional or dysfunctional as the individual sees fit. For this mask, there is a knit base to envelope tea bags and flowers. There is a combination of real and fake flowers that cover the mask itself. It hides the olfactory element and decorates the wearer's face.
Process: There is a knit base for the mask itself, the knit base holds onto scent easily and effectively. The flower stems are weaved into the garment and the scent is hidden inside of it.
Scent: Real and Artificial Flowers, Peppermint Tea, Rose Tea, Lavender Tea, Jasmine Tea
Description: In this project, each student explored their "other selves" and created a wearable olfactory piece for it. For me, my other self acts as an extension of my interests combined and fully expressed in the form of a dress. The scent for this piece wafts into the air with each movement.
Process: The skirt portion of the dress is built onto a hoop skirt cage (crinoline cage). The dress uses iridescent fabrics, fabrics with stars and glitter, sheer fabrics, real and fake flowers, and fairy lights.
Scent: Real and Artificial Flowers,

Description: In this piece, we explored a location and created a sound piece that could express the mood of that location. The place I chose was Greenwich Village which is a very rustic, artistic, bustling small area in the city.
Description: Similarly to the Aromatic Avatar project, I decided to create an ear cuff that could be considered an extension to my "other self". It's a jewelry piece used to adorn and decorate my body.
Process: Wire that is twisted and bent to create the shape used to hang securely around the ear and floral petals.
