Guidelines:
Purpose: The purpose of the Best Paper Award is to recognize and promote quality contributions to academic research and writing among scholars and students who present and publish papers at the ICMSCI -2026 conference.
Eligibility: All full papers published in the ICMSCI-2026 conference journal are eligible for the Best Paper Award, and all authors can be considered regardless of their profession or position.
Initial Selection: The five accepted papers receiving the highest scores during the ICMSCI-2026 review process will be selected as candidates for the Best Paper Award.
Announcement of Award Candidates: Authors of the five selected papers will be informed prior to the final publication of the ICMSCI-2026 conference journal, and the candidates will be announced on the conference homepage.
Selection Committee Review: The ICMSCI-2026 Scientific Committee will evaluate and score the shortlisted candidate papers.
Award Criteria: The Best Paper Award will be determined based on innovation, relevance to the research community, scientific impact, and technical excellence.
Each paper will be evaluated on a scale of 0–10 (where 0 is the lowest and 10 is the highest) for each criterion.
Main Criteria:
Originality (40%) – Original contribution to knowledge, with emphasis on the paper’s innovativeness in theoretical development, empirical results, or practical/research applications.
Quality of Argument (30%) – Strength of analysis, including critical discussion of concepts, theories, and findings, along with consistency and coherence of the presentation.
Positioning (15%) – Clear placement of the research within existing national and international literature, with convincing and meaningful conclusions.
Writing Style (15%) – Overall quality of writing in terms of accuracy, clarity, readability, and logical organization of the paper.
Meta-criterion that is specifically applied to the Best Paper Award category is that the winner of the award should be a paper that substantiates a new and novel idea or approach contributing to the cumulative knowledge base of the field and is likely to inspire fellow scholars in their research, as opposed to just grinding out yet another example of a well-known approach or result (even if the study was neatly conducted and reported). In other words, it is the “WOW” factor that we hope to see in the winning paper.
Winners Definition: The paper receiving the highest score by the Scientific Committee members will be awarded as the Best Paper Award.
This award recognizes the participant who delivers the most engaging, well-structured, and impactful oral presentation during the technical sessions. Evaluation will consider communication skills, clarity of explanation, slide design, time management, and responses to audience questions.
Only participants whose abstracts have been accepted for oral presentations are eligible.
In case of multiple authored papers, the award will be considered for the individual who presents the paper.
