EdTech Tools to Support Educator Effectiveness
"Inquiring Minds NEED to Know" (Questioning, Researching, Discussing, Creating, and Reflecting:Discover and experiment with technology tools to support all phases of the inquiry process. In this 2-hour session, learn how to facilitate student collaboration while encouraging individualized discovery. Practice using a variety of web tools and learn to use Google's advanced search features and reference tools to teach and comply by fair use and creative commons media guidelines.
"Let's Mix It Up!" (Blended courses offer personalized learning choices, differentiated instruction, and flexible seat time for students who desire an alternative to more conventional classroom settings. Join in an interactive experience that simulates a blended lesson while providing strategies and technology tools to facilitate instruction, assessment, and communication while maximizing student engagement. Discuss the impact of a blended environment on student learning and examine the process of translating traditional core courses into blended experiences. )
"How can I possibly Add-on more? Extend you productivity with Google Add-ons and Chrome Extensions" (We're all extremely busy and it feels unrealistic to add even more to our already overflowing plates. But Google Add-ons and Chrome Extensions can actually help you save time. Invest sixty minutes to improve your productivity and effectiveness and ultimately save yourself hours of grading, corresponding, organizing, and more.)
"Gmail Intervention" (Is your Gmail inbox out of control? Do you use your inbox as a to-do list? Do you waste time searching for emails that were filed, archived, or deleted? It's time for an intervention! Commit to this 12-step recovery program that will teach you to systematically manage the volume of messages in your Gmail inbox.)
Facilitate "But what do I do with it?" (EdCamp-style session for educators to ask questions about practical application of tools they've learned at WEMTA.)
Google Add Ons presentation
Two sessions with Dave Zindler to assist teachers across the district in completing and scoring their EEPs, self-assessing using the Danielson Framework for Teachers, and identifying, reflecting upon, and tagging artifacts.
My main focus is always on sharing ideas and learning along side my PSD colleagues, yet this year, I worked hard to share what I've learned with educators around the state of Wisconsin at conferences and on social media. I offered sessions on Blended Learning, Google Apps for Education, Google Extensions and Add-ons, Building a Personal Learning Network, and the connection between EdTech and Educator Effectiveness (my EEP goal).
