This Week At The Petchey Academy

Dear Parents and Carers,

October marks Black History Month, founded to recognise the contributions that people of African and Caribbean backgrounds have made to this country over many generations. The academy is marking Black History Month in a variety of ways including performances from our choir and drama students, staff Masterchef and traditional dress day, and Student Principals Renedi and Gabriella will be addressing assemblies on the theme.

Exciting trips this week included a Dance trip to see a new show from the Olivier Award-winning hip hop dance theatre company at the Barbican, and a Food & Nutrition trip to the V&A Museum. We also had a visit from the team from Into University who work with students from every year group to provide mentoring, advice and guidance to support development of key skills and inspire students to achieve their potential.

With best wishes

Jayne Nelson (Marketing & Communications manager)
