This Week At The Petchey Academy

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that this newsletter finds you and your families well and healthy at the start of what should have been the Easter break. Sadly many students and families may not be looking forward to the next 2 weeks without the prospect of being able to see friends or go out. It's really important that students do get some fresh air and exercise each day however, either by taking a walk, run or bike ride, all of which can be done as a family provided you stay a safe distance away from anyone else. We have pulled together lots of ideas to help to keep students busy over the next two weeks to try and help to pass the time. There's also some information about looking after your family's mental health whilst isolating.

Don't forget that we are also sharing lots more ideas for things to do and tips on health and wellbeing via Twitter @petcheyacademy and on our Facebook page. Students can also participate in our weekly Art Challenge on Instagram @petcheyacademy, and there are lots more ideas on our website here.

Warm Regards

Clare

How to look after your family’s mental health when you’re stuck indoors.

With schools closing and many adults working from home, families are going to be cooped up.

It’s easy to get cabin fever when children who are used to running around the playground and hanging out with friends are stuck indoors with their parents. Here are our tips for keeping everyone’s spirits up as much as possible as we self-isolate.
