Carlos is the son of South American Immigrants, a First Generation American and College Graduate, and has been working with college students for over 15 years. He holds an MS in Educational Leadership & Policy, with a research focus on supporting First Generation College Students through servant leadership philosophy and transition theory. As BUILD EXITO’s Academic Advisor and Co-Chair of the Scholar Success Committee, he supports scholars in navigating the nuances of the university environment. Whether you are degree planning, applying for financial aid or graduate school, registering for classes or writing a resume - Carlos is here to support you through the process.

In these (or other) cases occur, please reach out to Carlos Quatela or CIMR Faculty/Staff. There is no shame in facing difficulties. DREAM always want to know what is going on so we can:

C.A.R.E Team
The C.A.R.E. Team, hosted by the Dean of Student Life, is a resource available to any PSU student experiencing challenging circumstances.
The C.A.R.E. Team can assist with bureaucratic red tape
EXITO faculty and staff will make a C.A.R.E. team report in an circumstances where the team may be helpful

Academic and Enrollment Requirements
Enrollment
Trainees must be registered at PSU
Intent to be enrolled full-time (12+ credits) during the academic year (Fall/Winter/Spring)
If you are considering dropping below full-time, please reach out and we can explore options on a case-by-case basis.
Notes
Summer 2023: There is NO registration requirement for Summer 2023
GPA
There is no GPA requirement for DREAM
However, we are here to support you. Reach out and we can help!
Major
Declare and maintain an CIMR-related major in social, behavioral, or biomedical, health fields. List of majors here.
Notes
If you are concerned that your major is not considered “biomedical” or are considering a major switch please meet with the CIMR Advisor - Carlos Q.
Balance & Priorities
Balance off-campus and on-campus employment duties in order to prioritize my academics and my research
