Description:
Reflect on your application process, finish up application, or prepare for future applications.
Get assistance and writing support for the PSU Scholarship system from staff and the Writing Center
FAFSA Workshop

Description: Our F/A Councilor will help students complete the 24-25 FAFSA application for undergrad or beyond

Description: The second in our Post-Undergrad Series will feature CIMR staff sharing information on how to plan for and structure a gap year. We will share tips, challenges, and opportunities for gap years.

Description: A work session for any students who may want to present an oral or poster presentation at PSU's Research Week during the Student Research Symposium (May 8th, 2024)

We'll feature a speaker(s) from diverse fields, offering students and faculty at PSU the chance to engage with experts and explore collaborative research opportunities.

Description: We'll be hosting a panel of program alumni who applied for and enrolled in Master's and PhD programs. Students will get to learn about and ask questions on the application process, choosing between programs, and thriving in your post-secondary education.

CIMR Social Event

Location: Menasa Student Center (SMSU 238)
Dear CIMR & Ignite students,
We are pleased to share the CIMR Fall Social Event being facilitated by our graduate research assistants, Rosol Mikail and Javier Huerta! Join us on November 17 from 3pm-4:30pm in the Menasa Student Center (SMSU 238) for a fun-filled social event plus pizza and lemonade! (Add to your calendar)
Activities planned for this event include:
painting and coloring
gaming
and gift bag + card making!
We encourage you attend to build cross-program and inter-program connections with your peers from URISE, EXITO, PROA, DREAM, and Ignite!

Identifying Opportunities & Preparing for Applications Seminar, Nov 2023
How to make up the session:
Trainees in DREAM, PROA, and URISE are required to make up the session by completing the two tasks below. This must be completed by Wednesday, November 15th, 2023.
Watching the recording and reviewing the slides
Completing the CIMR Activities Reflection form, which should take less than 5 minutes.
DREAM Quarterly Program Meeting

Location: In-person w/ hybrid option (location is TBD - see below for Zoom link info)
We hope your term is going well so far. We're hosting a DREAM Program Meeting next week (info below).
Program Meetings are a time for DREAM Trainees to meet to build community, receive mentoring, & receive program-specific information/programming.
Attendance
Program Meetings are also required. If you are unable to attend you can use this form to 1) request the Zoom link or 2) inform us you are unable to attend. If you miss the session, you will be required to watch the recording.

How to Prepare for SACNAS Workshop

This event is for DREAM Trainees who registered for SACNAS
We are so excited about the upcoming SACNAS conference! Since so many CIMR and LSAMP students are registered for SACNAS, we are hosting a “Preparing for SACNAS Workshop” to help you get the most out of your conference experience. In the workshop, we will cover:
What to expect at the conference
Identifying your goals for the conference
Planning your conference schedule to achieve these goals and to have fun!
Networking at conferences tips
What to wear and bring tips
And more!
Attendance
This is optional but will be very beneficial, especially for first-time conference attendees.

SACNAS Conference
Dates: October 26-28th
Location: Oregon Convention Center
This event is for DREAM Trainees who registered for SACNAS
Requirements
EXITO DREAM Trainees are required to attend all required DREAM and/or CIMR meetings.
These meetings may include important information for your time in DREAM or other important items/activities.
DREAM will make it clear when events are required in emails and on the Events List (on this Google Site)
CIMR Activities
During the academic year, CIMR will host activities including workshops, seminars/webinars, enrichment sessions, events, and more.
Additionally, we provide opportunities to be involved in programming such as panels, poster presentations, etc.
These events are a great way to build community within DREAM and with the other CIMR Programs and their Trainees.
We are still planning our offerings but we are hoping to help you*:
Navigate higher education
Build professional skills (networking, public speaking, resumes, CVs, etc.)
Build research Skills and navigate in a research environment
With any writing projects (personal statements, application essays, etc.)
Learn information about graduate and professional schools.
Learn about navigaitng the research workforce (and other workforces).
Learn about opportunities (summer research programs, internships, etc.)
*Since we are still planning we can't guarantee any programming. Please reach out if you want support on any specific topic.
