The College of Education Leadership Team, as part of the governance process for the College of Education, works together to advance the mission of the school and to ensure that resources are used wisely and productively. Members of the Leadership Team have dual responsibilities: to advocate the needs of their programs and units and to consider the good of the COE and the university in making decisions.
Purpose of the Leadership Team:
To develop school-wide budget requests and advise the dean on the allocation of resources and personnel in service of the mission of the COE;
To develop guidelines and procedures related specifically to the academic programs of the COE;
To foster collaboration among units;
To ensure an appropriate level of consistency in guidelines and implementation across the units;
To recognize problems facing the COE and to seek solutions to them; and To manage faculty work assignments.

Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
Department Chairs
Senior Fiscal Officer
Director of Assessment & Accreditation
Director, Helen Gordon Child Development Center
Director, Oregon Center for Career Development
Director of Recruitment and Admissions Services
School Partnership Director
Operation of the Leadership Team:
The Dean serves as chair/convener of the Leadership Team;
The Leadership Team’s regular meetings occur bi-weekly, with special meetings as necessary;
Agendas are developed in advance of the meeting; agenda items may be suggested by any member of the COE community;
Leadership Team’s decisions are recorded and posted on the website;
Decisions are generally made by consensus;
Guests may be invited to the meetings to provide information or counsel to the Leadership Team;
Members of the COE community are welcome to attend meetings and/or present issues for consideration;
and, If a member of the Leadership Team must be absent, a substitute may attend in their place

Beginning 2021, notes from the open sessions of Leadership Team meetings are viewable by all College of Education employees 0.50 or greater FTE.
