Classroom and Office Use Expectations

Space will be allocated to meet school-wide needs in order to accommodate all programs.
To make best use of our limited classroom resources, classroom assignments will be based on the following criteria, in order of priority: (1) student/faculty accessibility, (2) predicted class size, (3) pedagogical issues, and (4) other needs.
Faculty may request particular classrooms for pedagogical reasons and efforts will be made to accommodate those needs. Such requests should be made to department chairs in writing before the schedule information is submitted. Department chairs will decide on conflicting requests.
All faculty share responsibility for keeping classrooms attractive and orderly. At the end of each class session, instructors should seek students’ help in returning chairs and tables to an orderly arrangement, ask students to clean up after themselves and discard food and beverage containers. Please erase whiteboards.
At the end of term, instructors must see that wall space and storage areas are cleared.
Materials left in classrooms more than one term may be discarded.
