Update in Progress
1. Space will be allocated to meet school-wide needs in order to accommodate all programs.
2. To make best use of our limited classroom resources, classroom assignments will be based on the following criteria, in order of priority:
1) student/faculty accessibility
2) predicted class size
3) pedagogical issues, and
4) other needs.
3. Faculty may request particular classrooms for pedagogical reasons; examples include:
· Heavy or significant course materials that are challenging to transport outside of Vanport Building;
· The course needs to be conducted in a specific space in Vanport Building, such as the Community Counseling Clinic.
Efforts will be made to accommodate those needs. Such requests should be made to department chairs in writing before the schedule information is submitted. Department chairs will decide on conflicting requests, then forward the request to the Scheduling Team.
4. All faculty share responsibility for keeping classrooms attractive and orderly.
5. At the end of each class session, instructors should seek students’ help in returning chairs and tables to an orderly arrangement, such as:
· Asking students to clean up after themselves;
· Discarding food and beverage containers;
· Erasing whiteboards, etc.
6. At the end of term, instructors must clear all wall space and storage areas. Materials left in classrooms more than one term may be discarded.
