Pattani Archives, a project at the Sir Prabhashankar Pattani Open Window Charitable Trust, is an emerging regional institution in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. The project has been initiated with seed funding from members of the Pattani family.
Over the two and a half years of building the archiving project, a small team of professionals has come together, from across different locations with experts in the fields pertaining to the subjects of (but not limited by) conservation, preservation, cataloguing, research, creative interpretation, and dissemination.
During these formative years, the team at Pattani Archives has also been engaged with the community in Bhavnagar for research and interviews, through onsite exhibition and engagement initiatives such as Antaraal and Alap, as well as interacting with the larger network of scholars and practitioners in conferences/ national forums to further the activities at the Archives.
The oral history exercise, the Summer Internships, and the Expose series are some of the key initiatives highlighting Pattani Archives’ pursuit of collaborations and creative communication.
In the third year, our team of curators and researchers are engaged in on site research, interpretation of the archival data, and critical dialogues with some key community members for preparation of the public launch of the Archives. The objective is to showcase the Archives , draw a stronger relationship between the archives and its city across periods by bringing out the regional stories that have emerged from the family Archives.
Having more people join us in this effort will help grow and sustain this initiative of preserving unsung local stories/ collections of Bhavnagar and Kathiawar and draw more scholarships.

Contributions to be made to Sir Prabhashankar Pattani Open Window Charitable Trust registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950.
Your donations are tax exempted under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
The trust also has CSR registration and hence is eligible to receive funding from applicable entities.
