Week beginning - Monday 29th September 2025
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
This week Year 5 have been reviewing multiplication with 2, 3 and 4 digit numbers and consolidating our understanding of factors and multiples.
For our grammar skills we have explored how we can extend an idea using figurative and emotive language as well as clauses.
Our inquiry this week has led us to investigate the beliefs and values of communities - especially their religious beliefs - and draw comparison with other civilisations and societies.
Last Friday, pupils took part in a 'Breakfasts Around The World' activity. Using sight and smell, pupils had to identify the country that different tradtional breakfasts originated from.
It is also worth remembering that we continue to participate in swimming lessons and it has been wonderful to see how so many have grown in confidence and technique when in the water.

For being a risk taker and thinking on the spot brilliantly when taking the role of Arthur in our hot seating activity. You formed your responses well and took into account earlier story aspects when forming your answers. Nice one Isaac.
Below you will find any important information for next week
During the week - Pupils will be trying bread made from recipes dating back to Viking Times. Following this, everyone will research bread recipes from different periods in the past in preparation for baking in the final week of term. Pupils should start sourcing their ingredients from home as soon as they have picked a recipe during the lesson.
Thursday - PE will be on Thursday this week instead of Tuesday. This change is for this week only.
Friday - Swimming - Please make sure you have your swimming costume, hat and towel.
