Week beginning - Monday 15th December 2025
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
What a wonderfully festive week it has been to end the term. The children have been full of joy, enthusiasm, and festive cheer. We have been as busy as Santa's elves making Christmas cards, Christmas reindeer biscuits and solving a variety of Christmas puzzles and tasks linked to our inquiry. In Phonics this week, we have been recapping on our knowledge of split-digraphs. We worked on a-e (cake, make), o-e (bone, phone) and u-e (June and prune). We were very excited to write our letters to the Berkley Group. We used our knowledge of letter features and everyday materials and their properties to write our letters explaining which materials we believe they should use to build new houses. The children are keeping their fingers crossed for a reply in the new year. In Maths this week, we consolidated our understanding of addition, 2D shapes and repeating patterns. The children enjoyed creating wrapping paper by using 2D shapes to create patterns. In our RE lesson, we focused on the story of The First Christmas. The children created beautiful storyboards detailing the key events of when Baby Jesus was born. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support throughout the term and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. See you all in 2026!
