Week beginning - Monday 8th December 2025
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
This week we have been incredibly busy practising for our Nativity performances. Thank you for ensuring your children are prepared with costumes and confident speaking, if they have a speaking role. We can't wait for you to see it!
In Maths we have been consolidating our learning about shapes. Then we moved on to shapes with 4 sides. We used mathematical vocabulary like curved, straight, corners, long, and short to describe the differences and similarities between rectangles and squares. Finally we went on a walk to see if we could spot some of the shapes.
In our phonics lessons we learnt the sounds b and j. The children are developing their fluency in reading by learning to read simple words at speed. You could help with this at home by encouraging your child to read known words like it, in, is, an, at by sight.

Jake has shown his confidence this week by being knowledgeable. He was able to justify his reasons for trying to be more sustainable with objects like wrapping paper in such an articulate manner. He then went on to make a super piece of wrapping paper using materials we had in class. I love your enthusiasm for learning Jake!

Elle has truly shone this week as a balanced and reflective learner! She has tackled new challenges with fantastic resilience and demonstrated wonderful perseverance. It is a delight to see her positive, determined attitude spreading joy and motivation across the entire classroom.

Delilah has shown our risk taker learner attribute this by learning her lines for our nativity practise and being brave by standing up by herself to say her words. Delilah is such a kind and caring member of the class and always tries her best in all areas of the curriculum. Well done Delilah!
