Week beginning - Monday 10th November 2025
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
Another busy week in Year 6. This week we began preparations for Christmas with a run through of songs, and speaking of songs - Paddock Wood's Got Talent is due to return and students are currently deciding on whether or not to participate and on their acts. Years 5 and 6 were also visited by Police this week as we learned about the dangers of knife crime.
In class, students have been learning to add and subtract fractions (including mixed numbers). Whilst our inquiries have focused on retelling stories situated in real-world issues (including The Journey by Francesca Sanna and Stepping Stones by Margriet Ruurs) as we continued our investigation migration. Students have also looked at examples of migration from the past including during the times of the British Empire and Commonwealth.

This week, I have been so impressed with your independence. You worked sensibly through your writing, thinking carefully about what you wanted to say, and you used the resources to help you build strong sentences. Well done.
6S
This week, you have been so resilient when managing distractions, dealing with social situations and focusing on your work. You have pushed yourself, set your targets high and reached the highest possible standards. Very well done, Mia!

In mathematics this week, Benjamin demonstrated personal resilience and collaborative social skills that supported his effective learning and helped him to solve fractions problems.
